The 2009 BioGuard Enrichment Conference was just that; a time to learn, a time to re-energize, a time to plan, a time to reflect. This year the Conference was held in the stunning surroundings of the Aventura Spa Palace in Cancun, Mexico. What better place to be during the first week of January?
One of the great things about being a Platinum BioGuard Dealer is that you are constantly challenged to improve your business and the pool & spa industry by improving yourself. More than 700 BioGuard dealers from around the United States were in attendance. BioGuard provides the necessary tools. Anyone who thinks this is just a "pleasure junket" has another thing coming! Do we have fun? Yes. Do we sit around in the sun? For a little while. Let me explain.
As one of New Englands oldest BioGuard Dealers, we take these Enrichment Conferences seriously. Our day begins at the Conference Center promptly at 8:30 am for seminars, workshops & working lunches lasting until mid-afternoon (about 3 pm). Attendance at these opportunities is mandatory for us. We don't waste anytime while away.

This year's Enrichment Conference featured key note speaker Ed Foreman who provided a perfect start to our 5 days of recharging. All business owners need to listen to Ed's great presentation. Not a business owner? Get some of Ed's materials to better your life & to learn "successful daily living."
From a business standpoint, the 3 part workshop presented by Pat Johnson & Dick Outcalt of the Retail Owners Institute. Over the years we have attended many of their workshops whenever they are part of BioGuard Conferences. The information presented is EXCELLENT! Don't understand accounting? You will get the equivalent of 3 years college accounting in 3 seminars. Understandable & well done.
Rick Segel presented fun & informative workshops on the current state of retailing. We've already begun incorporating several of his ideas into our daily operations. Fun speaker with years of practical experience, wisdom & knowledge.
David Riley of the Gemini Effect group provided invaluable insights for us as we move into the 21st century dogged by rapidly changing economies both here in the U.S. and abroad. Par Pool & Spa has seen our business change radically over the past 10 years. Back at the turn of the century, 99% of our customers lived within a 5 mile radius of our store. Today we regularly serve pool, spa & homeowners in all 50 U.S. states, Canada, 5 countries in Western Europe, the Caribbean, not to mention Australia & the Far East. We are committed to have the right information & products at the right times.
For 2009 & 2010, look for new labeling of ALL BioGuard pool care products. The Mineral Springs labels are changing now and the rest of the products will be gradually introduced starting this coming summer.
Now, did Ron have fun? Of course he did. So called "spare time" was spent networking with old friends and acquaintences from around the BioGuard family.
