Ask any of my friends or family & they'll tell you that I am NOT a man of superlatives. I cringe when people say that this thing is "awesome" or "unbelievable." The truth is that very few things in this world are or should be given "superlative status."
Where I am writing this blog from right now, does cross the line into superlative. On this balmy January 29, 2010, evening I am writing from the fabulous Moon Palace Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. And it is incredible. Really!
I arrived this afternoon leaving behind Connecticut's sub-freezing temperatures & a snow storm the day before.
Immigration & customs were both a breeze. The transportation was right there. Temperatures in the low 80's (F). Friendly people everywhere. Who could ask for more?
Why am I here? It's time for the 2010 BioGuard Enrichment Conference for owners of BioGuard Authorized Dealer businesses. I came down a couple of days early to rest and to get some writing done. I'm not just sitting by the pool drinking Margaritas! Monday begins the real work of business seminars and workshops. At Par Pool & Spa, we want your pool and spa care experience to be exemplary. This is where we learn the tools, expand our technical know-how & hone our skills.
From Sunday January 31 through Thursday February 4, we'll be tackling the latest pool & spa technology, looking at new BioGuard packaging, and most importantly, learning & putting new tools that help us help you enjoy your pool & spa to the max.
Anyway, the Moon Palace is just incredible. It's very big & spread out. Probably about 1/2 mile square in size. Rooms are golf course side, lagoon side & beach/pool side. Seven different restaurants plus smaller eateries, 14 pools (3 for kids), plenty of night-time entertainment, and coming soon, a golf course & Hard Rock Cafe. My room looks out over one of the eight pools across from the beach (plus each room has its own 2 person jetted bathtub in the middle of the room!).
Look for my pictures of the Moon Palace.
Like the other Palace Resorts, the food is phenomenal. If you're interested in what excites my palate, click here for details of the day's dinners. It's too bad that I'm dining alone though. My wife is back home with our son awaiting the birth of our first grandchild!
