Typically, when you have or use solar powered lighting, there's light but there's not really light. In other words, there's a glow, but you can't read by it or "operate" with it. Make sense?
But now there's real, honest to goodness solar powered lighting that can actually provide more than just ambient lighting. The SunLight 180 from Byron's Originals (maker's of the Step 'n Stow).
As you can see, this beautiful lamp post is not only solar powered, but elegant and rugged as well. Standing at about 7.5 ft (about 2.3 m), the SunLight 180 is tall enough to cast light on your pool deck, patio area, front porch, or anywhere you need light.
It's contemporary design blends with many outdoor decorating ideas. The lines are clean and modern enough yet classic.
The SunLight 180 can be used as you see it to the left as a free-standing lamp post with its water or sand filled base. As an option you can attach it to an existing fence or permanently install it in your concrete patio with the available mounting kits.
The solar charge and lighting controller provides fully automatic operation. It's smart enough so it can't over charge thereby extending the battery life.
SunLight 180's high efficiency solar panel is protected by non-clouding tempered glass rather than cheaper clear plastics that will cloud, significantly affecting the solar charging abilities of the batteries.
Here's what I really like about the SunLight 180: the LED light provides up to the equivalent of a 40 watt
incandescent bulb! You can actually provide light that you can read by rather than just experiencing a glow. That means up to 450 lumen's at less than 10 watts of
power with pleasing warm-white lighting - not harsh like other LED's.
Plus, the bulb is rated for up to 50,000 hours (about 5 years).
SunLight 180 also comes equipped with a 4 way switch: On, High, Low, Off. Now you can have brighter, useful lighting or pleasing ambient, glowing light. Or you can just shut if off. The batteries, when properly charged, provide 6 to 8 hours of High intensity light or up to 12 hours of Low
intensity
light per day charge. It works great in all lower 48 states and Hawaii. Click here for a

Where can you use the SunLight 180? Pool areas, decks, barbecue pits, wood decks, garden spots, boat decks, your cabin up in the mountains (where you may not have electricity). How about your outdoor restaurant, cafe or bistro. So many uses, residential and light commercial.
Here's what's great about solar lighting: No wiring. No UL listing required. You saves the cost of expensive professional installation and permits.
