Pink Slime & White Water Mold.
These two pool water care problems are probably the ickiest things you could possibly deal with in swimming pool water care. As you can see in the picture, Pink Slime & White Water Mold can grow together. Pink Slime is pinkish in color. White Water Mold is whitish-gray. More specifics in a minute. Worse yet - if that were possible - most pool dealers and service companies do not know how to properly diagnose or treat them. And they have to be dealt with promptly and completely.
Let's look at what Pink Slime (PS) & White Water Mold (WWM) are and are not. First some basics, then the video.
White Water Mold is NOT algae. It is a form of fungus. WWM is also naturally occuring. It loves to grow in garden hoses and in pool plumbing and in almost any dark, moist area.
Both PS & WWM are NOT caused by biguanide pool products such as Baquacil or Soft Swim. They are not even made worse by these products. The fact of the matter is, we see - across the country - an almost equal number of cases of PS & WWM in biguanide and non-biguanide treated pools; chlorine, bromine, salt, ionizer, etc. They are "equal opportunity" pool water problems.
PS & WWM are also very chemical resistant. They are difficult to treat. Shocking - no matter how much - will have virtually NO EFFECT. But unless you treat them aggressively, you'll get really frustrated as you spend money trying to treat and eradicate them.
In the following video, I'll show you how to effectively treat these problems as well as prevent their return. You can't get rid of Pink Slime & White Water Mold overnight, but they are treatable & even "curable". After the video there are several links for more indepth information as well as treatment options.
