Taking care of your Spa or Hot tub shouldn't be a real chore, but it's not that you just kind of "wing it" either.
Let's face it, you've put a lot of hard-earned money into your spa or hot tub; it's an investment in your family's health, recreation & relaxation. Like any household purchase, you need to care for it well. That doesn't mean that you use the most expensive products, but it does mean that you use cost effective (that doesn't mean cheapest), tried & true products that do what they say they'll do.
Spa & Hot tub care is all about doing the right things at the right times with the right products. Breaking what you need to do into these 6 Keys is what we're talking about. Let's get started with this video:
Again, here are the 6 Keys to Spa Care.
1. Circulation - how the water circulates in the spa or hot tub. All the factors that contribute to good circulation. Click here for detailed information. You can also watch the video.
2. Filtration - what is the job of your spa's filter? Are you using the right filter? Did you know that there are differences in filters that are "the same". Click here for detailed information. You can also watch the video.
3. Cleaning - we all love having our "stuff", but most of us don't like the cleaning part! That includes your spa. Good, proper cleaning takes care of a world of potential issues. Do it right. Click here for the detailed information. You can also watch the video.
4. Water Testing - please just don't add chemicals! Proper & regular testing tells alot about what's happening. Learn some of the tips to testing, as well as what to look for. Click here for the detailed information. You can also watch the video.
5. Water Chemistry - there are 4 parts to spa & hot tub water chemistry: 1. Maintain a good sanitizer level. 2. Shock the spa. 3. Enhance the spa with certain additives that can dramatically reduce the use of more harsh chemicals. 4. Maintain good water balance - pH, Total Alkalinity & water hardness. Click here for the detailed information. You can also watch the video.
6. Purge, Drain & Refill - if your spa or hot tub water is foamy or cloudy, don't run to add clarifiers or anti-foam products. Icky looking water is normally a sign that the water needs to be changed. But do it right. Click here for the detailed information. You can also watch the video.
Follow the 6 Keys to Good Spa Care and enjoy your spa. They shouldn't take you more than about 15 minutes per week. That's all. You'll be more satisfied with your spa. You'll spend less money & time in the long run.
