What's New for 2012

Just back from the International Pool, Spa & Patio Expo in Las Vegas, and it looks like 2012 is going to be FUN!

Mandalay Bay Convention Center was the home for the Show. Two days of working the aisles has produced good results. In these hard times, we've got to look for a little of fun. You've got to be able to put a smile on your faces without breaking your family's budget. With that in mind, I specifically went looking for high quality, high value, competitively priced products that will add to your backyard enjoyment.

The really good news is that I found a good group of products that can make almost everybody happy.

Here are just a few of the items we'll be featuring over the coming weeks & months.

Lacking in D.C.

Tom Hanks character "Forrest Gump" had a truly memorable line: "Stupid is as stupid does."

Forrest was often thought of as being stupid for his lack of "intelligence." But what he lacked in intelligence, he excelled in common sense, heroism, and fidelity. Forrest Gump inspired us to do good; to do what is right and not expedient; to stick by your friends until the bitter end.

That kind of leadership and thinking IS NOT what is prevalent in our nation's capital.

Just Incredible!

Ask any of my friends or family & they'll tell you that I am NOT a man of superlatives. I cringe when people say that this thing is "awesome" or "unbelievable." The truth is that very few things in this world are or should be given "superlative status."

Where I am writing this blog from right now, does cross the line into superlative. On this balmy January 29, 2010, evening I am writing from the fabulous Moon Palace Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  And it is incredible. Really!

I arrived this afternoon leaving behind Connecticut's sub-freezing temperatures & a snow storm the day before.

Immigration & customs were both a breeze. The transportation was right there. Temperatures in the low 80's (F). Friendly people everywhere. Who could ask for more?

New BioGuard Look for 2010

All the BioGuard pool care products get a NEW look for 2010!

Everything has been "regrouped" into categories that make pool care a little bit easier to understand. For about 25 years, we saw labels with 1-2-3 and colors that categorized what everything did: Blue for sanitizers, Orange for oxidizers & shock treatments, Green for algaecides & preventatives, Teal for cleaners, Purple for water balancers & Red for solutions.

2009 Atlantic City Pool & Spa Show

January 26 - 29, 2009, is when the Pool & Spa industry heads down to the snowy Boardwalk of Atlantic City, New Jersey to share what's new in products and technology, education, and even to catch up with old friends and business acquaintances.

After 27 years of shows, the Northeast Region Pool & Spa show is the second largest gathering of pool & spa manufacturers and professionals, only after the National Show & Expo.  This year, about 10,000 pool & spa people from most of the eastern United states will visit about 500 vendors exhibiting in over 450,000 square feet at the New Atlantic City Convention Center.

New and improved products from BioGuard, Dunn Rite, Aqua Finesse, Pristiva, Natural Chemistry, Trevi & 7-11.

2009 BioGuard Enrichment Conference

The 2009 BioGuard Enrichment Conference was just that; a time to learn, a time to re-energize, a time to plan, a time to reflect.  This year the Conference was held in the stunning surroundings of the Aventura Spa Palace in Cancun, Mexico.  What better place to be during the first week of January?

One of the great things about being a Platinum BioGuard Dealer is that you are constantly challenged to improve your business and the pool & spa industry by improving yourself.  More than 700 BioGuard dealers from around the United States were in attendance.  BioGuard provides the necessary tools.  Anyone who thinks this is just a "pleasure junket" has another thing coming!  Do we have fun?  Yes.  Do we sit around in the sun? For a little while.  Let me explain.
